WESLACO - Last night, Weslaco East was shutout 10-0 against Mercedes in a district 32-4A match up. The Wildcats current district record is (4-9).

"It's disappointing," said Cardenas. "We've been losing our games by less than two runs."

"We didn't finish games, we had leads," said Cardenas replying to the season overall. "We let them slip late in the game."

"We need to win our last games," said Cardenas about his goal for the rest of the season. "Most of us are seniors and need to gout with wins."

"Just have us finish games," said Cardenas about what he would have changed this season. "We let a lot of games slip away. We let a lot of momentum slip away from our team."

"We had a few errors, it was our sticks that died," said Cardenas about the batting throughout the season. "We couldn't get that hit late that we needed."

Weslaco East's next game will be on April 24, 2009 in Mission, TX against Mission.
