WESLACO - Tonight the Lady Panthers finished the season with a game thriller at home, winning over the Lady Lobos 5-4. Brittni Smith scored the last run of the night in the ninth inning to win, after the Lady Panthers were down 2-0 late in the game and rallied back to win.

"I saw her hit it, I wasn't sure if they were going to catch it," said Smith. "I just ran as fast as I could."

"It was tough, we expected to win," said Smith. "They put up a fight, but we came through."

"We did good, we could of done better," said Smith about her feelings on this season. "Next year, we are going to do better."

"Just step it up," said Smith on her plans for next season. "Play in the summer and prepare for next season."

"He never gave up, he helped us a lot this year," said Smith about Coach Rodriguez. "He taught me a lot."
